MYTH: The Arabs Want to "Drive the Jews into the Sea"

This is a commonly propagated myth, especially in relation to justifying Israel's massive military aid. Supporters often state it as fact that the Arabs have a desire to push the Jews into the sea.

The matter of the fact is that this statement is a total fabrication by the Zionist propaganda machine. No Arab, or Palestinian leader has ever stated that they wanted to push the Jews into the sea. In fact, the usage of this term originated in a speech by Israeli prime minister, Ben Gurion. In his speech, he states that the Arab armies intended to “push all the Jews into the sea, dead or alive". This statement has been attributed to many Arab leaders, specifically the former PLO leader, Yasser Arafat. I challenge anyone to actually find any reference to this statement by any prominent Arab leader in the early years of Israel's existence. (If you indeed manage to find any such statements, please feel free to contact me. If the the evidence you provide is irrefutable, I will immediately remove this page from the website!)

The Arabs never intended to "push the Jews into the sea", and they never did. Ironically, the Zionist forces of early Israel did what they claimed the Arabs wanted to do to them. They literally pushed the Palestinians into the sea. There are documented cases of Jewish forces literally driving Palestinians into the sea, by forcing them onto boats after they were expelled from their homes.
